To clear some things up for this ignorant little twit. 1. I'll give 10 points to the first person to show me where in this thread that I "whined" about anything, and show me some sort of PROOF that it is, in fact, whining. 2. What I don't understand is, why in the hell people have degenerated to saying a movie is good just because it has some pretty people in it. Or why people obsess over a band that plays shitty music because the lead singer is attractive. I understand perfectly how people can disagree with my opinions. After all, they are just opinions. And you know what they say about that... Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one. Just too bad Darwhine here has his head jammed so far up tot's opinion that he can no longer think for himself.

i tend to watch pretty most every film that comes out eventually. even the trashy hollywood blockbusters, will draw a line at thinks like jonas brothers and hannah montana, and especially high school musical rubbish. I really cant see the point in watching them, they are so far from real life its a joke. even the harry potters are more realistic than that rubbish, hard to believe but its true. it must be down to society and commercialism and basically the mentality of the parents that are bringing these kids up today, i cant explain any other reason for it. i could ramble on about what see as a quality film, but they are so many to chose, so instead i will make a little list of my favourites and you can see what you think.. here goes.. this in no particular order 1. shawshank redemption 2. godfather part 1 and 2 3. lord of the rings. 4. 12 angry men 5. as good as it gets. 6. a wonderful life. 7. man on fire. 8. the unforgiven. 9. way out west. 10. goodfellas 11. schindlers list 12. band of brothers (series) 13. das boot 14. scent of a woman 15. 24 (series) 16. rio bravo 17. mary poppins 18. blackhawk down 19. taken 20. soprano's (series) theres just a few of my favourite

See, that's what I'm saying... There are so many good movies out there, and most of those that you two have listed are older films released before this "If it has pretty people in it people will watch it and we'll make millions!" crap happened... I mean, there has always been movies out there like that and always will be, but the whole problem is that recently they have started taking over the industry. Anytime there is a good movie out in theaters there is some sort of trash like Twilight or Hanna Montana or High School Musical taking away the spotlight from the films that truly deserve it. What's even worse is that these shitty movies are winning awards! What is the world coming to when something like Twilight can win awards and beat out the good films from the good producers. It's obvious to anyone that knows about movies when watching Twilight that it's a no talent pile of trash. I could understand if the Hanna Montana movie was as stupid as I'm sure it was/is... But that movie didn't take over the media and didn't fill up full displays in EVERY store you go into with cheap junk they are charging insane prices for, and getting it! (Yes I know Hannah Montana has merchandise and it's popular, but it was there before that shit stain of a movie showed up.) I have no beef with Harry Potter other than there are adults running around dressing up like a HP character and waiting in line for HOURS if not DAYS to see the new movies coming out when Harry Potter was completely intended for children and young teens. It's pathetic. At least with Star Wars the people dressing up and role playing out front of theaters for a week are waiting to see a movie that wasn't made to impress 12 year old girls. Don't get me wrong, I think that's stupid, too... But the thing of it is... These same people have been doing this since they were children... Twilight is new, and so is Harry Potter, High School Musical and Hannah Montana... Leave it for the children and go see a REAL movie. But then again, it's hard for a lot of people to sit down and watch a movie like Seven Pounds and understand it. Or for them to watch something like The Brothers Bloom and keep up with the plot.

1. shawshank redemption 3. lord of the rings. 8. the unforgiven. 11. schindlers list 15. 24 (series) 17. mary poppins I love friday and half baked I have only seen those and loved them. I loved most of the classic scary movies like Halloween or Friday the 13th I agree that movies have gone down the toilet. Live actin Dragonball movie sucked Hannah montana and all that crap on Disney channel, some may like it but i miss classics like looney toons, tom and jerry, and others i miss them so much

Damn man, there is so many good movies that I cannot even begin to list them lol (and sorry for the double post but I felt its necessary with such a great thread ) But I totally agree with you fusion. I hate the fact that people only watch most movies cuz the actors are 'sexy" or "good looking". Honestly I could care less what the characters look like as long as the movie has a good plot and meaning behind it, as well as the actors having a great skill at what they do. Weather someone is chiseled and has a nice body/face shouldn't make a difference but sadly in this world it does.

Good Will Hunting is a great movie. If the role in a film needs an attractive person, that's all good. But if the movie is there specifically BECAUSE the person is attractive... That's lame. Sadly, that's what most of the film industry has come down to these days... Music, too. For that matter, what the hell ever happened to art? Art seems like, well, a lost art recently... You never see anything in the media about an up and coming artist. Just music, movies/shows and celebrity drama. I'll sure be glad when this horrid reality show thing finally dies. Talk about annoying.... Who the hell cares if Ron Jeremy and Vanilla Ice get along in a house full of has-beens and whores? American Idol? WTF is wrong with people? Look what that show produces... Shit music. I watched the first season of that show because it was new, and the second season showed up I was expecting them to spice it up somehow.... They didn't. Same shit with different people... All of the entertainment industry is going to the dogs lately... Music has either gotten ridiculously stupid or completely whiny. TV has lost touch with it's roots and become "What's Famous Jones doing for lunch, and dinner, and before bed, and tomorrow morning, and on Christmas?" Movies are slowly turning into popularity contests of who's got the better abs, or which bad musician can become and even worse actor/actress and still make millions doing it? I mean, what's going to go next? What form of my entertainment will be taken from me in the near future? Going to take away my love of video games by letting Miley Cyrus do voice overs for Master Chief? Or maybe get that Twilight jack ass to show up right in the middle of the new hit game I'm playing and shimmer in the sunlight?

	Pulp Fiction is one of my all time favorites. All are good, but Signs was not so great. Good concept, but it was the little things that ruined it for me... Like the fact that he's carrying a shotgun at one point, but he never uses it... My house gets over run by aliens and I have a gun, I'm going to use the fucking thing... lol

I like to pick movies apart, especially alien and zombie flicks. I think it's fun to pick out all the things they do wrong... Like people that have no plan for the zombie apocalypse in movies and just run around screaming until they get eaten... Dawn of the Dead for example (The new one, never saw the old one for some reason. *goes to download it*) is a good zombie flick... But several parts of that movie bug the shit out of me... Like how the dude hoarded his wife in the baby store for days and no one bothered to check on her even though they had all gotten to know/cared about eachother? Not likely... Why leave the mall at all? The mall is big enough to have plenty of food for that many people to last quite a while... If they weren't out of food, why leave?
