| He changed it because he wanted to, the same reason you pick names and change them. He picked Garfield, because he likes Garfield, people of all ages, like the cartoon and it is not exclusive. I do not see you asking every other person on here why they change their names and it is looking a little weird that you are spending so much time on this issue.
