I'm considered a socialist because of the way I play a game? That's jacked. And I'll be quiet when your name is purple and you can actually fucking enforce it. |

I do not get into politics much as I leave it to the politicians. I will say I love my country but do not always agree with how it is run |

At the end of the year when your tax liability is zero you pay no taxes. And it's really easy to say that people with money can give more, especially when it's not yours. If thats the case then make it a true progressive tax, don't stop at 500k go all the way up to the hundreds of millions. Won't happen because then dickholes like George Soros, who owns Obama, won't let that happen. Tell that pig Oprah that she's gonna pay 90% and see if she does fundraising for the Democrats. Its all a bunch of crap and you know it. |

Yeah, and how many people have a tax liability of zero? If you're that poor, chances are you're having trouble just getting by. I definitely think it should go above $500,000. No doubt about that. |

So people that make less money...that have mouths to feed and struggle every day...shouldn't get breaks? I mean even with the tax breaks the rich get, I don't see them hurting. |

So having money is bad? Then why work hard? Why is Darwin going to college? So he can work at McDonalds? I don't thinks so. The point is yes, you should be in a lower tax bracket if you are low income. But I'm pretty sure that is the way it works. And if at the end of the year you get all or most of it back then you paid nothing. All I know is they kept 20k of my money last year, and when I see "I want free healthcare" I know it's not going to be free I know I'm gonna get even less back, so forgive me if I'm not excited about it. |

When you hoard so much money that other people can't get their most basic needs, then yes it is bad. I'm not going to college to make a lot of money. I don't expect to make any more than $50,000 a year, and I plan on donating as much as I can. The public health care option is not free health care. It is not funded by taxes either. It's funded by premiums (just like any insurance provider), except the premiums will be much lower than most insurance company premiums because the government won't be using the premium money to pay CEO's huge salaries or dividends to investors. |

That is such a crock Darwin it's not even funny. The bill will be funded by tax dollars, or how can it be provided free to those who can't afford the premiums? That will raise the cost for those who can pay because they will in turn have to make up the difference, making it unaffordable. If what you are saying is true there would be little or no opposition. The trouble is if you bother to actually read what's in the bill, it will force most people into the public option whether they want it or not. |
Ban meh [inactive] Post Count: 0 Respect: 0 | 09 Oct 2009 05:44pm |
The public option IS NOT FREE. Did you read my post? People will have to pay premiums, which will be lower than regular insurance plans because the public health insurance provider will be a non-profit organization. |

Oh ok so no one will be covered for free and there will be no cost to anyone else? Then why did the CBO put the cost at over a trillion for 10 years? Why is the Obama administration saying no bill without an exemption for the poor? He must be lying according to you. |

They have to hire workers, set up buildings, etc. Did you hear Obama's speech? They aren't going to pass the reform bill unless they can do it without raising taxes on the middle class. |

A trillion dollars to hire workers? to rent offices? sounds great to me . Yes I did hear him. I also heard him say that 200 billion a year is wasted in Medicare and Medicaid. He's going to fix that(200 billion) He's also going to cut those programs by 500 billion(thats 500 billion, not 200) but there will be no decrease in services. Well with that kind of math logic it's bound to work out great! |
Lil Demon [inactive] Post Count: 0 Respect: 0 | 09 Oct 2009 06:05pm |
And I wasn't saying it's bad to have money Reaganator. I'm saying it's bad to have money and bitch about having to pay taxes. My mom had her Christmas bonus taken because my dad who she divorced three years earlier failed to pay his taxes. That's cheap. They'll go after a woman that has to work 2 jobs to keep her house before they'll go after a CEO. Everyone with a fat pocket has been favored for a little too long. I say it's the little guys turn about now! |
[B K] BorN KiLLeR [inactive] Post Count: 4 Respect: -13 | 09 Oct 2009 06:12pm |
Well that sucks with your mom but as far as going after CEO's why would the government do that when the Treasury Sec didn't pay his taxes, the Head of the House Ways and Means committee, who actually writes the tax laws, is a tax cheat, as are most of the government. As a matter of fact I believe it was a Democratic Congresswoman Maxine Waters of CA that said pretty much everyone in government lies about their taxes and its no big deal. So I don't have much sympathy for others when those above me cheat and don't pay and those that make less than me don't pay. |

Interesting read, gotta admit I'm totally with the "Socialists" on this one. Just have to say I find it funny that Bush Cheney, who started the thread, never posted again after two replies though its been going for 6 pages... lol. |

Some people seem to forget, a preseident cannot declare war without the approval of Congress. So Bush did not start the war, our congress did. So, if you dont know our politics, stay out of them or just keep on looking like an idiot. And alas, Bush was no idiot. He graduated from Yale, one of the most prestigious colleges on the globe. But, politics are all about appearance, an act. His good 'ol southern boy routine got him a lot of votes, though he came from a vastly rich family. Did I think he was a good president? Hell no. Just setting the facts straight. |
