| ALL of the 12/21/2012 end of the world talk every last bit of it comes from the ancient Aztec civilization. The Mayans, and the Mayan calender. August 11, 3114 BC was the start of this long count, December 21, 2012 AD is the end of this long count... it is NOT the end of the world by any means, just the start of a new Long count that will last another 5000 years... People miss translated long count to mean the end of the world when it is not true, keep in mind this is understandable b/c the vast majority of Aztec scrolls was destroyed by the Spanish conquistadors starting in the 1511 lasting 170 years for the most part although some minor revolts have happened as recently as 1930, the Spanish killed many Mayans for not converting to the Catholic religion, and burned a lot of the ancient Mayan writings calling it blasphemy, much of the historical records have been destroyed forever. The Spanish were after gold and silver and land, and the way the Mayans had set up there civilization, it had no single emperor who you could come to some agreement with, they had many "leaders" spread out that needed to be dealt with 1 by 1 on a case by case basis. What happened to the indigenous South American people by the Spanish settlers is very similar to what happened to the indigenous North American people by the British settlers. History is written by the victors of the war. Not who is right, not who is wrong, simply the victors of the wars. All this non-sense about an end of the world is not true, and is just the end of a calendar round, basically just a very BIG unit if telling time. What will happen in 2012 is like what happened in the year 2000... every crazy person is afraid of some Y2K thing that ends up being nothing. People need to be motivated in one of two ways. Fear and Love If you are a fear driven person stop letting fear be your guide, and let love be your guide, you will live a better life, b/c every minute you spend in fear is a minute of happiness you will not get back. |

| This is all highly overrated. If we talk scientifically then the end of the earth will be in about 5 billion years... cos the lifespan of the sun is about 10 billion years and it has been in existence for about 4.6 billion years. so we only have about 5 billion years to look for another habitable planet lol. spiritually: Jesus walked the earth some 2000 years ago to tell us that God will return, God doesn't need to wait for 2012, he could come any day. Science is overrated, Yes they made many discoveries, but there are many things that science is just to young to understand. |
