Sorry I didn't get in here sooner.

All that 12/21/2012 is, is the end of a cycle. Mayan calender cycle's are based off the stars and it ended when it did because they were nowhere close to needing another 3,000 years of calender.

If the Mayan's were still around, it would be a giant holiday for them. So my prediction is they may re-appear as suddenly as they disappeared and dispel everyone's fears.

This is very true, The Mayans had an accurate, but different way of telling time from our calenders today.

If you can all think back to "Y2K" it is basically the same thing.

The Mayan pyramids were built thousands of years ago by a group of ancient sun worshipers. They built them to last thousands of years in to the future, and they did.

Very much of the mayan culture has been lost, the vast majority of there ancient writings have been destroyed by time and by the invading spanish christian crusaders who would burn the scrolls b/c it was "blasphemy" they did not believe in Jesus in there religion so it was destroyed for the most part.

Corporations now want people afraid, fear = money for them. When people are scared they spend more money(look at any insurance advertisement), but in all reality you don't have anything to fear from the end of the long count.

Even if I am wrong, but you will know that I am not by 2013... There is nothing you or I or anyone could do about it so don't worry about it.
