A progressive tax system is absolutely socialist. And no, the federal government doesn't owe anybody anything. Constitutionally speaking they do not have the authority to do anything that resembles social security. And it is not the top 38% of income earners that will be taxed more in an Obama administration, it is all of the roughly 110 million income tax payers, as well as the roughly 170 million that don't pay income taxes that will be taxed more. Think outside the box here. Paying $200 a month instead of $100 for your electric bill is an increase in taxes. Paying $80 to fill up your gas tank instead of $30 is an increase in taxes. What you bring home may not change at all, but ultimately more of your money will end up in the pocket of a government entity that is neither wise, or capable.
