The beginning of addictiveness, could be low self esteem... the ongoingness (is that even a word) of it is more physical, not just mental. |

| Fox, of course! Of course... The beginning of addictiveness, IS low self esteem or low/lack of own identity or both. This is waht i meant. The addiction afterwards is developing with different factors. And to resolve the problem is to find, and understand why it happened and was caused by what. And then when you have reached the "Main" problem- is to resolve it. And that's the hardest part for 95% of people. |

| however like you mentioned "ongoingness" of the addiction is differrent proportions of mental and phisical- dependoing of the addiction. Some are more mental, some are more phisical. |

| and just because for example your organism needs some microelements that are in some yoghurts or milk products, doesnt mean if you are an addict.It means you need some of those... But if you're sticking to your diet, working out everyday, eat that youghurt coz someone told you it's good for your shape and for your look etc... it might be an addiction. But a more complex one. Sure, everyones self esteem is so high that we should all be touching the sky. Just like: o: how are you feeling? -: oh great great!! thanks and you? *thinks in his mind: dammit gotta pay the credit, bills, get the car back, .... or i'm cooked* |

| Basically you're saying everything you do / say / eat / drink is down to self esteem. I don't think it is. I understand your idea behind it all, especially addictions to the drugs/booze.. but they are also forms of escapism. Escapism is what people with low self esteem seek... but it doesn't mean you seek it permanently unless your brain decides "oh hai, this is fucking excellent, i wanna do this all the time!" Booze / Drugs are the most common forms of escapism... but you have sex addicts too... I don't know what their issue is with esteem... but if being addicted to sex is a bad thing....  |

| No Fox, you misunderstood me, or i havent said it clearly enough. Addictions are down to self-esteem and problems with your own personality or lack of it... Escapism itself is a psychological problem, which derives from the lack of the above. Not talking about the art movement. ALL of the additions have the TWO things in common. Every addiction. Sex, drugs, rock'n'roll... lol Every adiction. Is sex addiction a bad thing? I dunno. Your organism cannot fuck all the time- it will have future health consequences. That can be neuro problems, hormone prolems, but it can also be: lack of self esteem. Your BF or husband is a sex addict? lol... is he always asking after: how was it?  |

* Is sex addiction a bad thing? I dunno, but it might have some bad health consequences in the future. Sex addiction can be caused by neurological problems or hormonal problems. It can be also caused by self esteem- too low or too high.  * |
