| best actor/actress or supporting actor/actress... say what you will about the technology making it so relaistic and the special mocap they used to mimc the actors facial expressions to me it no different then when an animator for a cartoon movie studies the facial expression of there voice actors. i loved Zoe Saldana in this film but if you give her an award for acting then you might as well of given one to tom hanks for his "role" in toy story.......or fuck man at least frank oz as yoda for the Empire strikes back. which george lucas tried to get for him but the academy doesnt recognize puppetry as "acting"...which all this technology used to make these alien characters appear so life like, its just advanced puppetry. that being said i loved this movie and think it has a chance for the "best picture", needless to say every technical award wiill go to Avatar....thats a given. ok, was that dorky enough for you  |

| Ive seen it, great special effects cant be denied, enjoyed it thoroughly but don't you think its just a modern take on certain westerns? I mean the avatars are just like the American Indians, and the big bad white man cowboys ( humans) trying to move in and steal the land? almost expected someone to start building the rail road!! but like I said I enjoyed it, but nothing new, same old same old plot. |
