| Votes count in a presidential election, just not in the way a vote counts in a traditional election. Your vote helps decide who takes the whole of the states electoral votes. If your candidate doesn't win your state, then it is kind of like your vote didn't count for anything because the national numbers don't matter. Only the electoral votes matter. However, more things were on the table then just a Presidential election. Two years ago, I was the deciding vote in removing a judge. Lost retention by 1 vote. |

| this was part of the argument with my friend and ummm... al gore won the popular vote by 500k votes... but bush won the electoral vote 271-266 okay this is how i see it feel free to correct me or disagree. al gore had the overall popular vote but if u break it down state by state. bush technically won more of the larger populated states which means he had more electoral votes in his favor. electoral votes are based on the population of the state. so it came down to florida in which bush won by about 500 votes. those 500 votes got him 25 electoral votes bcuz of floridas total population and caused him to win.... so i think every1's vote does count...feel free to disagree and plz tell where ur coming from |

yes thats what they are SUPPOSED to do. they dont. obama lost the popular vote in michigan but won teh electoral vote. our votes really dont matter. we just tell the electorates what we want. its like a 5 year old kid asking his mom to go to the mall...its ultimately teh moms choice. even if there is 5 kids asking to go. mommy gets the final say.....unless teh kids run away.....i say we get in teh streets and rebel!!! liquor stores first |
