Okay so today I'm going back to Uni after the Christmas break, and I want to know if it's possible to use a Laptop, as a Desktop monitor. By which I mean use a totally different computer, and use the Laptop as the monitor. Reason being I don't want to be that selfish guy who doesn't share his big TV (I use my Big TV as a monitor at the moment and my other housemates either don't have TV's or their TV's are too small to bother putting in the living room) If it is possible, and you help me figure it out then 5k points are yours! |

If you're not good with electronics I'd forget about it and use your TV. Just tell your housemates to fuck off and put in to buy a TV of their own. |

If you're at uni you should be smart enough to work this out seeing you normally have an answer for everything that everybody normally posts. Dumbescuntes |

If you plug a VGA cable from the desktop into the laptop. You may be able to. It's entirely dependant on the two machines and their compatibility. |

Take the HDD out of your PC and install it into the laptop. Then you can just use the laptop and cut out any need to turn a laptop into a desktop monitor. |

I have a feeling that may go completely tits up as the PC is Apple, and the Laptop is windows I'll look in to it though, thanks for an actual helpful answer, lmao. And Rogue, you really, really are outdoing yourself here. |

You could actually set up a partition on the laptops hard drive, have both OS in there and upon startup you simply choose which OS you want to run. I used to have XP and Windows 7 in partitions of the same HDD. |

I find it hard to believe that one of your friends/family doesn't have an extra monitor or little tv laying around that you would actually have to use your laptop as a screen. |

People use their TV's and monitors for their own uses... |

Luckily one of my house mates is letting me use his little TV, in return for letting him frequently use the Big TV in the living room for gaming |

Should have told him to use his own fucking TV instead bitching and moaning 'cause someone else has a bigger one. Would he get a porn star with a bigger dick to fuck his woman? I think not. |

Yeah but then it also means I have to watch a small TV when I'm in the living room chilling out/eating my dinner etc. I'm never around when he's using it for gaming anyway cause I'm at uni for like 23 hours minimum per week, plus it takes me ages to get home from uni |
